Where to go in Spain
One of the more interesting areas in Spain is the Ebro Delta. Although it is mainly agricultural (used for the growth of rice) it accommodates a wide variety of birds (it has the largest colony of Audouin gulls) and other animals. It's coastline is absolutely fabulous - miles and miles of sandy beaches which are fairly uncrowded even in summer. The Ebro is Spain's largest river and the delta itself is one of the largest wetlands in Europe (320 sq km). If you visit Catalonia, make sure you go and visit the Ebro Delta - it is a trip well worth it. |
